Binchopan

504,00 AED

The Binchopan is a quick and easy way to light your Binchotan charcoal. It consists of three parts: a lid, a middle section, and a bottom piece. To start, fill the middle section with pieces of Binchotan, standing them upright. Place the bottom piece (with the logo facing down) on a fireproof surface, then add firelighters or another fire starter. Next, place the middle section on top. After 15-30 minutes, your Binchotan will begin to glow, ready to be placed in your grill. CAUTION: Always use tongs or heat-resistant gloves to handle the Binchopan.

To extinguish the Binchotan after use, place the bottom piece (logo facing up) on a fireproof surface. Add the glowing Binchotan to the middle section, then cover with the lid to cut off oxygen and extinguish the charcoal. This process allows you to reuse the Binchotan for future grilling, making your fuel use more sustainable while reducing CO2 emissions.

Important Note: The handle of the Binchopan will get hot during use, so always handle it with care. The Binchopan can be used to light both Shichirin and Kamado grills.

THE HISTORY OF DE SHICHIRIN

We see the Shichirin popping up in houses as early as the beginning of Japan’s Edo period, around 1603. During this period, they paid with the currency Rin in Japan. Cooking with the table grill was cheap, as you only needed 7 Rin of charcoal to cook a meal on it. 7 Rin is also pronounced “Shichi Rin”.

The use of this grill was initially reserved for the samurais, people of nobility and the wealthier citizens. Later, this changed and the grill was used among all sections of society. The versatile table grill was widely used on festive occasion such as outdoor folk festivals, even in the cold season. To this day, the Shichirin is also used at tea ceremonies, which are very popular in Japan.
