Large Rectangular Shichirin Grill

The YAKINIKU Shichirin is perfect for creating a memorable evening, whether for a summer gourmet experience or a cosy winter barbecue. Made of ceramic with quartz and cordierite, it’s easy to clean thanks to its glazed finish. This table grill is designed for outdoor use with briquettes, self-igniting briquettes, or charcoal.

For authentic Japanese grilling, use Binchotan charcoal, which reaches extremely high temperatures and burns longer than regular charcoal. To light Binchotan, start with a softer charcoal bed, like Acacia charcoal, and place the Binchotan diagonally on top. Alternatively, you can use a gas burner to light it, though it takes about 15 minutes.

To take your Shichirin experience to the next level, consider adding yakitori bars and BBQ skewers. These accessories make grilling Yakitori-style easy and add even more versatility to your grilling. With the YAKINIKU Shichirin, you can bring the complete Japanese kitchen into your home!

Description

Large Rectangular Shichirin Grill by YAKINIKU is perfect for Konro & Yakitori, Japanese style cooking/grilling.

The Large Rectangular Shichirin Grill is perfect for 4-8 people, making it ideal for small gatherings or even use in restaurants. After grilling, you can also use the Shichirin as a heater, allowing you and your guests to sit comfortably around it.

SHICHIRIN ASSEMBLY

Shichirin used to be made from river clary. YAKINIKU® made the composition more complex. The Shichirin Grill should be a real powerhouse for the kitchen. The composition of ceramic, quartz and cordierite is baked at very high temperatures, making the Shichirin virtually indestructible, allowing the grill to reach temperatures of up to 1,000°C.

The glazed coating makes it hygienic and easy to maintain. The Japanese bamboo handles and stainless steel frame are a continuation of the YAKINIKU® quality.

The special thing about grilling with the Shichirin is the cozy sitting together around the fire. Similar to gourmetting, the delicious food is presented on the table in small portions.

Whether you use the Shichirin in combination with the grill, teppanyaki or yakitori bars, the Shichirin out best with binchotan charcoal.

THE HISTORY OF DE SHICHIRIN

We see the Shichirin popping up in houses as early as the beginning of Japan’s Edo period, around 1603. During this period, they paid with the currency Rin in Japan. Cooking with the table grill was cheap, as you only needed 7 Rin of charcoal to cook a meal on it. 7 Rin is also pronounced “Shichi Rin”.

The use of this grill was initially reserved for the samurais, people of nobility and the wealthier citizens. Later, this changed and the grill was used among all sections of society. The versatile table grill was widely used on festive occasion such as outdoor folk festivals, even in the cold season. To this day, the Shichirin is also used at tea ceremonies, which are very popular in Japan.
